Let's Get Down To Drawing & Painting
2023 was a fabulous year from a botanical art teaching point of view. Students were welcomed back to the regular monthly classes at Barnsdale Gardens. New and aspiring botanical artists joined me at various venues throughout the UK; my lasting memory of 2023 is a year of laughter, learning and tutoring. I enjoy sharing my love for botanical art and colour so much, and spend a lot of time researching and preparing for classes and workshops; the slight downside for all this commitment is that I just don't seem to get down to finishing many paintings - my portfolios and studio are full of botanical 'works in progress' . I'm not a great one for New Year Resolutions, but I am determined that at least 4 of these W.I.P.s will be completed!
2024 promises to be as exciting and as fun-filled as 2023, with a variety of classes and workshops for all abilities being offered at inspiring locations. I am also currently developing a project which is rooted in the natural world, with a slightly alternative artistic focus. What this space for more information.
So, are you keen to build on your drawing & painting skills, pick up a paintbrush for the first time since you left school or develop you art portfolio? Come and join me, and like-minded friends, at inspirational locations throughout the UK.

Northants Open Studios 2024 (incorporating Rutland Open Studios)
I was so pleased to welcome visitors in 2023 to my work, and to have some great conversations. Visitor feedback was so positive which means the absolute world to me.
2024 will see Rutland Open Studios joining up with the much larger Northants Open Studios, offering a larger programme of visits, demonstrations and exhibitions. The event runs throughout September, and I will be holding my Open Studio at The Garden Studio, Barnsdale Gardens, on the following dates:
7 & 8, 14 & 15 and 21 & 22 September 2024, 10.00am - 4.00pm.
Access to the studio will be free, via the 'back gate', but please do take the opportunity to visit the gardens too - entry fee applicable - you really won't be disappointed.
Original works will be available to purchase, in addition to prints, cards and other merchandise.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank Nick, Charlotte and the team at Barnsdale Gardens for all their support with this event.
